Zimbabwe moves closer to ending hard wheat imports

2026 winter wheat season targets 662,500 tonnes

Zimbabwe has set its most ambitious wheat target yet: 125,000 hectares and 662,500 tonnes, above the revised national requirement of 615,000 tonnes. By mid-May, over 97,000 hectares had been contracted as planting gathered pace.

New national strategy targets 1.4 million tonnes of wheat by 2030
